Eagle Scouts & Snuggies

Tonight, I was able to experience two wonderful things, the first being attending a Scout Ceremony, where all the boy scouts in a troop are moved up a rank as they have earned it. Really, I don't know how it all works, all I know is that myself and those people (Bethronica & PandaManda) with whom I was standing in the back of the outdoor open space were the worst hecklers. This scout ceremony was redonculous! Complete with pyrotechnics and cold weather. First we "burned through the arrow of life" as the scouts moved from their previous rank to whatever the next one was. Then we had our loving eagle scouts - of which I was related to one (hence, the reason I was featured at this wonderous occasion) - cross a bridge, it was terrifying to watch these boys cross this bridge it looked something like this:

Oh look he's a scout too, must be some rite of passage.
ANYWHO - Except, lets just pretend that this bridge is a flaming bride of death, thats right, you heard me FLAMING! (I may be exaggerating, just a bit). These eagle scouts had to cross this bridge, while below them there was a massive bonfire. At the end of the bridge they took the zipline down and crossed straight over the bonfire. It's a wonder that none of these strapping young men singed their khakis. If I were a parent, who know about this insanity, I would have pulled my son out of scouts long ago.

On a side note, I am here, blogging in my brand new blue "super soft fleece" Snuggie (the blanket with sleeves) as seen on TV. It is pretty much one of the most amazing things ever. I think that I am going to adapt my snuggie just a tad and install a little velcro snappy on the back. I also wish I could hem it a little, because its slightly long and hard to walk in. The sleeves also hang down a bit. But other than that I love it. Oh also, it has a static cling problem too. Cest La Vie.

Another side note - I went back to the Dillards sale and got 2 more shirts and a cute little Kenneth Cole short sleeve blazer/jacket thingie. super cuteness. (My mommy bought them for me) but the total for these 3 goodies was $17!!! And the other day I spend $30 on 2 shirts, tsk tsk to me. I also have 2 skirts and a jacket that my mommy bought for me at the Dillards in my home town, which I have yet to see, but I'm sure they'll be cuteee! Gotta love mommies :)

Be sure to leave your response to my poll on the side of my blog, and I need some input (I may have spoken to some of you about a name for a possible new "crafty/bloggernacle" blog.. So far I'm torn between:

Frankly My Dearest
or
Belle of the Ball

(so right after posting this I just deiced to use the Frankly M'dear one, and it's linked... CHECK IT OUT AND SHOW ME SOME LOVE!

(I should be off now.... I need to color the prophets for my lesson in Primary tomorrow!)

Oh my word! you are so stinkin on the ball with the bloggy goodness! I too, witnessed the boy scout rite of passage...aka...flaming bridge of DEATH! I seriously felt like I needed a Zanex or two after that spectacle. I had absolutely no idea what I was signing my boys up for. Is it too late to turn back now??? BTW, I am soooooo excited to get a turn to wear the famous snuggie tomorrow.

Becca, I almost wet myself when I found out you were wearing a snuggie while blogging. That is awesome.

Becca--I was terrified! Plus I was kept in the dark about this potential death trap--makes sense not to tell the parents.....hmmm. Anyway, he is DONE and I am HAPPY--I am yanking him out of Scouts this very second!
